All the San Pedro April Fools’ Day Headlines We Didn’t Publish

Few things are more annoying than the Internet on April Fools’ Day.

Seems like every year, well-respected websites dumb themselves down by concocting pranks and fake stories in order to fool the public for 24 hours, all for attention and Web traffic.

Here at the San Pedro Beacon, we’re still a small start-up finding our footing in the San Pedro/Rancho Palos Verdes news cycle. The last thing we would want to do is throw away the trust and respect of our readers that we’ve built the past couple of months by posting some ridiculous stories and headlines just for a simple prank.

But we’re not above having a little fun on April Fools’ Day.

Instead, here are the headlines for April Fools’ Day stories we didn’t publish:

“Ballot Measure Will Let Voters Decide if San Pedro Should Secede From Los Angeles”

“10 Miles of Bike Lanes to be Painted in San Pedro Alleys”

“Western Ave. Ninja in the Running for Port Director Job”

“BREAKING: Bicyclist Spotted in Westmont Drive Bike Lane”

“Councilman Buscaino Behind Mysterious Cat Stencils”

“LAPD To Counter ‘Ghetto Bird’ Image with Fleet of Pastel-Colored Helicopters that Play Lullabies”

“BREAKING:┬áLA Weekly‘s Dennis Romero Actually Steps Foot in San Pedro”
