Petros Papadakis Reads Dr. Seuss to Christ Lutheran First Graders

Radio and television personality and former USC football captain Petros Papadakis visited his alma mater Christ Lutheran School on Monday, where he read Dr. Seuss’ Fox in Socks to a classroom of first graders.

Using his animated on-air voice, the host of Fox Sports’ Petros and Money Show read the tongue twister-filled classic to more than a dozen students wearing construction paper Cat in the Hat hats. Yesterday would have been Dr. Seuss’ 110th birthday.

When asked what his favorite Dr. Seuss book is, Papadakis went with Hop on Pop. “You know, I’m a new father,” he said.

After the reading, two student athletes presented Papadakis with a green Christ Lutheran Chargers sweatshirt, which he put on before coloring paper cut-outs of the Cat in the Hat with the class.

“We’re so happy to see him come back,” said Christ Lutheran Marketing Director Samantha Fulton.

Papadakis visits the school, which he attended from third to eighth grade, several times a year.

“I’ve been coming back since I was a football player at USC, but back then I would come and talk to the older kids; I’ve shifted,” he said. “I enjoy it, I get a lot out of it and I always have. This was a really special place for me.”
