Homeless Forum Set for April 2

The Central San Pedro Neighborhood Council in conjunction with Marymount California University and Grand Vision Foundation will host a “Quality of Life” forum on April 2 at the Grand Annex in San Pedro.
The forum, which is titled “Ending Homelessness: Mission Not Impossible,” will focus on how chronic homelessness is being addressed on local and national policy levels. In addition, it will discuss possible solutions and will feature a question-answer segment following a panel discussion.
Panel members for the forum include, Kerry Morrison, director of the Hollywood Property Owners Alliance and co-founder of Hollywood 4WRD. Morrison was also appointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority governing board.
Also on the panel will be Jeremy Sidell, chief development and communications officer for PATH (People Assisting the Homeless), who is considered an expert in the development of permanent, supportive housing.
Tahia Hayset, executive director of San Pedro’s Harbor Interfaith Services, will also be on the panel to talk about the evolution of that organization in response to current policy directives.
The Grand Annex is located at 434 W. Sixth St. The forum will start at 6 p.m. and is free to the public, though seating is limited to 100, so those interested in attending should RSVP to planning@centralsanpedro.org. For more information, call 310-489-3026.
